  1. Hi All, Hope you're all enjoying this lurvly weather we've had lately, especially with a bit of rain today just to get things a bit muddy again. I was wondering what sort of mileage you have on your Defenders? (by far the best Landrover). I have just passed 231,000 on the original engine and gearbox, just goes to prove that if you look after your Defender it may just outlast you in years and mileage (mine seems to be in better condition than I feel most mornings!). I am still looking for some doors though, to replace the ones I have, which seem to have a disagreement between the alloy and steel (a common problem I understand) then she's gonna have a respray to liven her up a bit now I've spent a bit of cash on her running gear. Also I was wondering if LR4x4 go to shows such as the LRO at Billing or my home town of Peterborough, perhaps to have a stand? Regards, Kev English
  2. Hello, Can anyone please enlighten me on the point of tubed and tubeless 7.50 R16 tyres on my Defender 110. Is it possible to fit tubeless tyres onto tubed wheels (original 200tdi steel type) if using inner tubes? I've got the chance of some really good part worns and the tyre company who's got them says you can fit tubeless tyres if the inner tubes are used. the tyres on my defender are tubed at the moment. Any ideas?? please. Thanks for any light you can shed. Kev English

  4. Hiya, Nene overland (www.neneoverland.co.uk) usually have a good stock of used 90s, although I've just checked their site and they have nothing at £4000 at the moment. Have a look in Land Rover International (LRO) magazine if you get a chance, it's normally full of 90 and 110s for sale at the rear of the mag (page 236 (april issue)has a 1989 with long MOT for £3295) including LR dealers who sell ex MOD etc. The next issue of LRO mag is out This Wednesday 24th march. Happy hunting Chris.
  5. Thankyou for your replies, I think if I wasn't sitting down reading them I would have fallen over in shock at finding such a friendly bunch of helpful Guys on this somewhat brilliant group/site! I really appreciate your help and info of your technical knowledge on the subject and I think I'll go make a cuppa and read them again. My fantastic 1993 'K' reg Defender 110 has 229,000 on the clock and has some pressies coming it's way when it gets to 1/4 Million miles soon. I'll have to have a look on some photos to see what these tyres and wheels that you've mentioned look like but I can't wait now to get some. Does LR4x4 organise any 4x4 events or greenlaning? 'cos It'd be great to thank you all in person. Many thanks again for all your help Guys. English (Kev English)
  6. Hi Folks, I'm new to LR4x4 and would like to say a big hello to all fellow likeminded Landrover lovers. I have a '93 Defender 110 csw with original steel wheels and all terrain tyres (which are need of replacement soon as they are near legal limit). Could anyone please tell me what options are availabe to me if I want to stick with 7.50 R16? I don't know a thing about different wheels/tyres sizes (don't even understand the 7.50 figure)availabe and could do with some advice. Many thanks to anyone that can help. Regards, English.
