    My wife' 90, offroading/quadbiking & shooting.
  1. You mean, fit the green/yellow/red or the other one to the front? That's a hefty spring to put on the front isn't it, would they not give some problems?
  2. You are indeed correct, one is green/yellow/red, the other is green/yellow/white. Now my next dilemma is; do I fit the above or a pair of 2" lift from a disco to the rear? The wifes 90 is getting to be a mix & match already, originally a 2.5TD 90 (F reg), now a 200tdi & just about to put the springs (when I decide which). Decisions, decisions!! What do you recommend?
  3. I'll have a look now, damn things are covered in waxoil!!
  4. Hi Folks, I have some springs to fit to the wifes 90. Need to work out what side they are and if possible the rating, although the ratings not that important. Fronts; 1=blue 1=blue/yellow Rears; 1=red/yellow 1=green/yellow. They came off a 50th anniversary edition 90. now I just need to find some shock mounts for bilsteins Thanks in advance for any info that you can give.
  5. I've got the spacer next to the housing, then the fan, another spacer then pulley the spring washer & nut, even tried it with twin spacer next to the housing with no luck. Pulling my hair out on this one
  6. Thats what I thought, even compared it to the old one. Brand new parts eh? Absolute carp!! Embarrasing as hell driving through town with the noise
  7. Hi Folks, recenlty changed my alternator on my 200tdi converted 90 - reason it was smoking like hell & batterywarning light was showing with ignition off. Got new alternator, fitted it on Saturday just gone. Went to pick wife up from work & heard this horrible scraping noise. Thiswas the alternator fan gouging its way through the casing. Now, got new alternator off (in the rain), you can actually pull the centre shaft out so I reckon that as I'm tightening up the pulley it's pulling the shaft out, then when started the alternator is pulling the shaft back in, hence the noise. Anyone come across this before? Thanks in advance for any info.
  8. Hi Folks, know its been covered before but cant find it at all. Done a 200tdi conversion into a 2.5Td 90 put a defender 200tdi temp sender unit in. Where does your gauge sit? Mine is reading just on the top end of the white with normal driving. Is this normal? Cheers folks
  9. Many thanks. Just need to get home now & work on it!!!!
  10. Hi Folks, could any of you nice people post a pic of the heater hoses coming from the engine, just to make sure I have them the right way round. Thanks in advance Dave
  11. Or by a Twisted Performance one, not that bad. I've seen a post somewhere about putting in/out at the correct side of the cooler, just can't remember where.
  12. Seen a few done but to be honest, with the length of pipes that have to run behind the radiator - is it worth it? Would be better off bonnet mounted or at least sat above the turbo. We did fit a pair of electric fans behind a TD5 radiator, not much difference but did give the same effect in the cab as it would if you had aircon running????
  13. I've bled it both hot & cold, coolant never fully to the top of the rad though.
  14. It's amazing, engine went in sweet as anything. Only stumbling blocks were - air filter - now sorted. PAS reservoir - still waiting a defender pipe. Now the temperature. Would go as far to say its better than my 300tdi Disco ever was. Well happy.
  15. Finally, after working on the car at weekends its done, nippy as hell One problem though - temperature. It's up in the red I've read about the mismatch between 200tdi sender & the TD guage but surely it shouldn't be this high. Top hose was very hot to touch after a couple of mile journey. Getting worried to be honest. Any recommendations????? Appreciate any reponse. Cheers Dave
