Cheers for the reply. How would i know wether the casings are metric or imperial?

I have a spare set of 24 spline diff and half shafts. Can i fit these into the 10 spline casings under my disco? If not whats a complete set of 24 spline diffs and shafts worth? Cheers Paul

I recently took my newly purchased discovery to Tixover for a bit of fun (200tdi with an lt77 box). I reversed her off the trailer with no problems at all, however, 30 minutes in I lost reverse completly for the rest of the day. Returning home i have stripped all the trim out above the gear box and it appears that the gear leaver goes into the reverse position but isnt engaging any drive although there is a whiring noise coming from inside the gearbox. Is this a common problem? Whats the best way to fix it? and is it a gearbox out job? Thanks Paul

I am the proud new owner of a 200tdi disco which i have bought for a bit of an off road project. As im a cheap skate im going to make a snorkel myself. I have used the search on this site and now have loads of good ideas. However, the only area im not sure of is how do i attach the snorkel tube to the side of the windscreen? I will be using drain pipe if this makes any difference? Cheers all

Thanks for all your suggestions. It did turn out to be the hazard switch even thought the hazards worked!

Im currently having a huge amount of grief with the indicators on my 1992 200tdi 90. I currently have no indicators at all, a forum search showed that the problem could be in the hazards switch but 4 times out of 5 my hazards work without a fault. Ocasionaly the right hand side lights dont come on straight away but they eventualy work. Since the hazards are working am i right in asuming the problem could be with the indicator stalk itself?

Thanks for the advice. Once the landy has been rebuilt i will be using it predominantly for spraying (unfortunatly my barn has no electricity). Would a 9cfm 50 litre tank be man enough for spraying small (14ft) sailing dinghys?

This is my first post so please excuse my ignorance. Im looking to buy a second hand compresser to help in my iminent landy rebuild. Im going to look at one tomorrow which is driven by a honda petrol engine. It is described in good working order but is 12 years old. What should i check for / look at? Its made by clarke and is 9cfm if that makes any difference. Thanks for looking. Paul
