  1. Thank you very much, I'm glad to know it's the real thing.
  2. V4584 is stamped next to the housing.
  3. About 4 years ago I bought an unleaded cylinder head for the 2 1/4 petrol. Now, it was sold to me as a "Turner Engineering" item. Is there a definitive check for this? Or even that it really is an unleaded head? I'm finally in a position to look at fitting it and since the truck hasn't turned over in 4 years I might as well do it before I try to start it up.
  4. Useful info guys, I'll need to have a think about this one. It's not going to do a lot of distance, I have a JEEP for that.. ha ha.. I'll probably get shot for that one. Still, maybe a different tyre is called for. I had previously considered just getting a whole new set anyway.
  5. I've got two brand new ones sitting here, just looking to make a set.
  6. Thanks for the replies, looks like taking the tub out is the way to go, as stated it will take longer but will make a better job. I'm planning to do the prep work myself but get a pro to do the welding, I'm not confident enough about my ability to do work like that. Thanks again. Alan.
  7. I've searched about a bit but I still have a basic question.. is this a 'tub off' job?. I've got a series 3 that's been sitting around for a few years ( lapsed project ) and I was thinking it's time to get started again so I had a poke round the chassis to see how sound it was. Seems ok except for the rear cross member which is corroded on the near side, the rot extends to about the spring hanger. I'm not sure if the hanger is affected or not, will need to set about it more thoroughly. I'm thinking that maybe I should just get the cross member with extensions. Any thoughts on which ones are good/poor quality? To be honest I'm at the stage of weighing up whether to press on or abandon, I don't have a lot of spare time, the Landy is outside and the weather isn't good ( I'm in Ayrshire, so it's not likely to get better! ) and it looks like a fair bit of work will be needed due to it sitting around for so long. On the other hand, I've made some mods to get better seats and more room for me, it's got a Salisbury on the rear and I've got a PTO winch lined up to fit so it could be quite a nice ride once it's done.. decisions eh? Thoughts and advice welcome, be aware that if I go ahead you'll see a lot more posts like this!
  8. Hi Discovan, Thanks for the offer, what sort of condition is it in and how much would you like for it? I've got 2 brand new ones sitting here so I'm looking for another 2 new ones but I'll also be looking for a spare.
  9. Does anyone know where I could get two ( or three ) of these? I need to make up a set for when I finally get round to sorting my series..
  10. I started to remove mine some time ago but it's become a lapsed project, one of these days I'll get started again!
  11. Thanks for the help, I'll give them a go.
  12. Does anyone know where I might get 2 or 3? I have 2 brand new ones already and I'd like to make a set. Thanks.
  13. Did you find any crossply SAG? I've got 2 brand new ones and I'm looking to find another pair to make a set.
