  1. I have a LWB with the 2.25 Diesel, can you add a turbo to that engine? I saw an 84 that supposedly had the 2.25 with a turbo....would love to get a little more top end speed, a diesel may give me that.
  2. My 79 S3 LWB Santana had a roof rack on when I bought it. The roof rack did not have adequate bearing surface and over time wore through the fiberglass channel on the roof. Anyone have any tips how to repair the damaged channels? I have repaired both boat hulls and surfboards in the past, so I have a little experience with fiberglass work, but not sure the best method. I would like to use a roof rack in the future, so I want to ensure the structural integrity of the rain gutters. I was thinking about adding an aluminum channel within the rain gutter and then fiberglassing over that, but I am really open to your suggestions. Thanks. SD
  3. I was planning on replacing the window channels on my 79 S3 LWB Santana, but when I pulled the existing channels on the first door, I found a significant amount of rust. I have not heard much about the Rocky Mountain Aluminum Door tops, but am now considering the upgrade to get away from the rust problem. Anybody had any experience with the RM door tops or any other brand? I am hesitant to put the money into rehabing the existing door tops when I can get away from rust (with the aluminum) all together. Any comments or advice is much appreciated. Thanks. SD
  4. Thanks Les. I just finished changing the springs to the opposite side, sitting pretty! Now on to the next project......
  5. I just installed some parabolic springs I received from Atlantic British, forest green color for rear springs and grey for front springs. Once installed, my 79 series 3 LWB santana sits slightly higher on the passenger side. I noticed that the rear springs are marked "N/S" and "O/S". Currently the N/S spring is mounted on the drivers side on the LHD vehicle. Why am I sitting higher on the passenger side? Should I just switch out the rear springs, putting the O/S on the drivers side? Any help is truly appreciated.....calling me a novice would be an overstatement.
