Sometimes it can be a real pain to get all of the air pockets out. Try letting the truck idle for a while with the cap off and look for bubbles in the overflow bottle. Just be sure to do this experiment when the truck is cold.
If you get constant bubbles in the overflow tank you may have a head gasket issue

See you on the 27th Justin
First pint is on me !
-
It means you may miss the chaos caused by a few flakes of snow
I live in Buffalo which is one of the snow capitals of the US. I am extremely happy I am going to miss the little snow shower
-
I dont know if this will hurt or help but my trip has been delayed a week
So anybody want to meet up on the 27th?
-
Depends where you are going!
I hope you pic a good place

I'm making the estimated guess that Justin is over in the UK seeing the Terrafirma guys in Milton Park nr. Didcot
That is correct sir. So were am I going if milton is not the correct name please?
-
Ill be in milton on Sunday the 20th if anyone wants to join me for a pint. If not I will be forced to drink all the delicious beer myself.

Never had much to do with D2s, what is the function of a "watts" linkage?
Kind of looks like a twin set of panhards with a rotor in the middle or am I being thick?
yep you got it
-
Here's a quick test for a bad Watts link bushing with a video showing a bad bushing.SymptomsWhen you have a Watts link bushing going bad, normally you will hear a clunk and a bunk from the back of the truck when you go over bumps or from forward to reverse. The truck will also not want to track straight on the road and feel very loose.Instructions.Get your biggest friend to push on the truck side to side on the body right next to the rear taillight. We did driver-side to passenger side in this video. Now climb under and see if there is any play in the bushings.

As suspected, it is needed
But we already gained this impression when we tried to cross a field with a trailer on...........this is why the truck on the trailer has 3 diff locks
Our ford vans have the same traction control and that nearly works too.
I too have had to resort to the three lockers on the trailer to pull the tow truck
-
There's always a lot of questions when you talk about the center diff lock. Especially on the discovery 2. To make matters worse there is a lot of crazy information on the web. I hope this quick video will help clear up some of the confusion and miss-information. Enjoy.

Thank you every one for the answers. I was guessing it was winch related.

Why would you want a 2nd alternator?
