  1. Just sorted my passenger window out last weekend. The motor had been on its way out for a long time, was getting slower by the day. Then it packed up whilst window was open ! Was a right pain to strip whilst the window was down, typical aint it ! Got a new motor from ebay for £9, was easy to fit too and with a spray of lube in the run channels it works great now.
  2. Im going to try and spray some wd40 into the alternator this weekend. Wont do any harm and hopefully should disperse any water that enters or for that matter any thats in there. Ill try and make up some sort of splash too that certainlyb would help. I must admit the v8 amazes me with its capability of going through water for a petrol ! Ive recently fitted a waterproofed distributor and coil boots along with good quality leads and the engine never misses a beat through water other than the alternator.
  3. After going through several deep floods in my rrc v8 ive noticed the battery charge light illuminating and the rev counter not working. Once out of the water all goes back to normal. Im guessing its down to water in the alternator. Is there anything i can do to stop this happening. Also whats the chances of the engine block cracking due to rapid temperature change ?
  4. No mate doesnt seem to be hanging on to the gears but ill check the adjustment any how. If the box is on its way out i think ill run it till it goes completely. See how long it holds on for !! Think im going to replace all my bushes too this might reduce a little free movement in the running gear, they certainly look worse for wear.
  5. oh feck that sounds expensive better start saving. Diidnt know whether it could be something more simple like prop joints or ive heard the a-frame balljoint can give similar scenarios.
  6. My 1990 rrc auto has a harsh jerk when changing up gears whilst accelerating hard. Seems to be getting worse just lately. Now seems to be happening under lighter acceleration too when before it was only when giving it some oomph !!!
