  1. Bought from a garage. Relied on a copy of HPI. Have checked history with LR customer services, and their records comfirm 161k 27 Feb 2007
  2. Having had problems with Td5 fuel pump, returned said pump to LR under warranty. LR refused the claim because of incorrect mileage. Just come off VOSA website having searched for Mot history. And this is what I was hit with. Date of test- 09/11/06- 155,484 miles Date of test- 04/05/07- 74,308 miles. I bought this Disco in July 07. 76000. Mileage- genuine LR service stamps- HPI ticket--- all false
  3. LR snobbery can be fun. Back some 3 years ago a workmate and I saw exactly the Disco we wanted on a main dealer forecourt. We had just left a building site, and it was a cold dark evening. The stunning receptionist and the sales team blanked us. The screen price was £21,995. A young lad was finally dispatched to get rid of us. He nervously explained that this was his first day on the sales floor- and which vehicle did we want to test drive. WE explained that we did not want to test drive anything- but that we wanted to buy that motor there, and if it didn't drive perfectly his manager would be the first to know- just prior to the Disco going through said showroom window. The young lad looked pretty pleased with himself, as he went over to the leering senior sales people, with a cheque for £5000. Coffee/biscuits etc where suddenly made available, together with sales managers full attention. We blanked him. Still got the Disco.
  4. Thanks Jim. You've made my day! But I know yor right. Not sure you are correct about head bolts though. Recently done head gasket and can't recall interfering with cam carrier
  5. Thanks for the idea. I suspect that if this was the case the fuel return would be strangled, and the fuel filter would remain cold. This is not the case- the filter gets hot
  6. Hi, can anyone advise? Fitted a new [genuine] fuel pump because old one noisy. Turned out to be injector seals. Noise caused by pump trying to clear airlock. But here's the rub- the new pump has failed after some 200 miles. It would appear to have seized. Drawing 26 amps- but silent and doing nothing. Signs of scorching on inner pump body. So here's the two part question. Is there any history of new pumps being faulty? Or is there some form of control of the pump that could be faulty, that is making it work overtime.
