We've sorted it!! A bit of cutting & welding on the gearstick was required. Also cutting the thread off the gear sector was needed. Remedied with grub screws on the spline. Will post a photo when I can work out how. Now just the wiring....

I'm currently undertaking this task... We've gone a little mental & have had the tdci bulkhead galvanised too. The major problem we're having is the fact that the gearselector fouls the heater matrix of the new dash, looks like the stub will have to be cut down & an adaptor plate made to attach a gear stick to. The clocks will also be a problem, however I reckon the old clocks can be mounted in the new binnacle with a bit if effort.
