Is there anything to watch for with these engines when theyve done over 100k know of one for sale to me but its done 120k....... my disco 300 seems fine with 155 on it but its a different engine of course.

obviously bright, my favorite orange, would settle for green or maybe yellow but not sure it would suit lol

no....... i just get synthetic paint mixed in which ever colour i fancy.... normaly bright though.

10% thinners in it...... and if the paint is warm you get less bubbles from the roller.

depends on the finish you want really, i just give a quick sand so the paint sticks and roller synthetic paint on...... works quite well.

Are P38s as bad as Discos for tin worm?
The sills on my P reg disco are terrible, and i would be looking at similar age P38s.
So where should i check?

on my 300tdi when changing from 1st to 2nd it will grind unless im going very slowly or really press the clutch for along time before changing.
Changing down into second is never a problem.
Is it dying?

I,ve bought an R plate 300 tdi auto as a donor vehicle , I'm removing the engine , box and axles ready to stick in to a galv chassis , does anybody know if the're is an ecu or similar tucked away anywhere ?

any ideas where the maincable connector is?? or a piccy of what it looks like may be better.
also a diagram of what colour wires go to which pin in the ecu plug...... i have this pic but in reality mines different

gonna have a fiddle again 2moro........... if im right and pin 15 has not got power, it should as its a perm live, where does it pick its power from, so i can check.

hello again.......... do i test the plug end? to do the fault finding guide or does it all need to be plugged in?
also are they nembered left to right 1-13 ... then back to the left 14-28 etc etc see piccy please and advise.
so if i have the numbering system right the 1st test is pin 15 ignition off..... and i should have some power, but i havent so where do i look to sort that.
with the ignition turned ON pin 2 as i think it is has power....... so some must be getting through.
please be patient, im rubbish at sorting electrics and learning as i go.

any easy way to check if there is power to the ecu? im not too electricaly minded.

right bear with me as i dont fully understand ECU's etc.
if one element of a system does not work correctly, will the ecu know this and stop it from running?
the reason i ask is because yesterday the EFI fuel pump would not operate when the ignition was on.......... so i cut the wires and wired it directly the battery via a cut off switch, so im wondering wether this would upset it or not.
any idea what colour the fuel pump relay is?

trying to get my RRC {rogue} to start, it had stood a while before a bought it.
it has fresh petrol, the pumps are working and its getting to where it should be..... i have spark on every plug, but i wont fire at all.
Its 3.9 EFI ........ try and make it simple.

on the works 300tdi......... when you put the wipers on..... any setting, it takes them about 2 minutes to come on.
been like it for 6 months at least...... any ideas??
big oil leak

Ive a big oil leak on Rogue mk1, between the engine and gearbox area, so is this likely to be a crank seal gone............ its not even running at the moment but has been turning over alot though
just cant get it fire up.......really considering removing the 3.9efi and replacing with something else without all the electrics, but it needs to be an easyish swap and fit onto a torqflite....... unless that goes as well.
any ideas?
