  1. You developing a cold there? Got to love V8's.
  2. So, I took the plunge. I got myself a Land Rover Discovery 1 V8 Auto with a dead engine and I swopped that dead engine with the 3.9 EFI I got for the Range Rover Classic. What was I thinking? Two V8's. Two V8's.
  3. I did something silly. This will draw the whole 1984 Range Rover 3.5 V8/Range Rover Classic For Sale/Engine Swop for Classic to a full circle. The short story continues inRange Rover Classic For Sale thread.
  4. I prefer keeping to Land Rover. Was cheaper, for me, to get a Land Rover engine and fit it without endless modifications.
  5. I restored the RRC back to original. It runs sweet. I just thought for second there that I might want another Land Rover. But, it seems I love this vehicle.
  6. Thank you guys for the insight. I will not be selling the Range Rover anymore. Decided this afternoon that I'll rather save up some cash and buy another Land Rover than to sell my current RRC.
  7. Sheesh guys. I don't know. This decision seems much harder today than it was yesterday. I was enjoying a cup of tea earlier, just staring at the Range Rover, and then my decision, nay my logic behind, to sell just didn't make sense anymore. Am I making a mistake to sell the RRC? Please advise me guys. I need help. Much appreciated.
  8. It is with a sad heart that I type this. My Range Rover Classic will not get the engine swop I imagined. I'm getting myself a mint condition Land Rover Discovery I with a 3.9i V8 instead. So, I have to sell the old girl. Unfortunately will not be selling through the forum, my friend, a good wheeler dealer will get me a very good price for the Range Rover Classic. May I find another Range Rover Classic again in the future.
  9. Hopefully it will not come to that. I see. Makes sense now.
  10. You should excuse me, not familiar with all the shorthand terminology. What does 'para' stand for?
  11. Except if mine also carries the cast fault. But, I need not worry about those things when it is still running fine.
  12. Would really like to see some pictures of that Bobtail of yours
  13. Oh, yeah. I forgot to add that the previous owner, or the mechanic fitted the engine with branches too.
  14. The spaghetti does not bother me much. I have to sort the harness anyway. The first owner removed the original 3.5 unit and fitted a 4.6 EFI in there. He then removed the 4.6 unit and refitted the 3.5 unit with EFI. The second owner screwed that 3.5 unit and sold the vehicle to a middle man, the mechanic where I bought it from. He then fitted another 3.5 unit in there, removed the EFI and fitted a Weber 38. I cannot explain the mess that is my steering console. The engine bay is full of wires and *stuff*. I will remove the entire body, in time, build a new harness and fit the new harness. If I go for the 3.9 EFI motor, I will do the harness with it. If I keep the 3.5 carburetted motor, I will do the harness. So what I'm trying to say is the harness will be replaced irrespective of what engine I choose.
