Spotted on eBay it's even in Southampton.

A decent 3 ton trolley jack is my go-to. You don't necessarily need 3 ton capacity to lift a corner of a defender, but it makes a world of difference over those awful pressed-steel 2 ton jacks.

I need a connector to plug in an external accessory that will only be on the car part time.
It needs to be 2 or 3 pin, bulkhead fitting (flanged) weather proof (ideally with a dust cap) and fairly compact. Only a couple of amps going through it.
There seems to be a range of choices on eBay / amazon of unknown quality.
Any recommendations?

I think the RWW one they do might be off-on-mom but will confirm that with them before buying one.

Thanks. I've looked up the wiring info. Some pins are fairly common, live in, earth, backlight, so I should be able to figure the others out easily with the multimeter.

Thanks everyone, knew I could count on you!

Has anyone come across a carling contura type switch that does off-on-(on) or off-on-mom in laymans terms?

The quality of your fabrication work is outstanding. What do you do for a job?

Couple of hours work should be plenty to fix it up, it's only been off the road for 27 years.

I'm just glad it's got one bid on it, so there's less chance of my ending up with the biggest secret santa on record
What if it's Mike buying you an early Christmas present?!

This thing has got to be the perfect new addition to @TSD fleet. It's even the right colour!

I went, as a buyer this time rather than my usual stealth seller plan. Saw Jon's 109 sneaking in at the last minute as we were stood in the queue. Ratio of LR to vintage I thought was ok. E-tickets are a step backwards - took forever to scan whilst the cash line was zipping through. Barn was half empty. Loads of sellers left really early. We found a couple of things first walk round to go back and bid on later, but by 12:30 when we got back the entire stalls had vanished. I think a "can't leave before 2pm" rule would be a good idea.

You can get a little extra flex by fitting narrow radius arms, with wide bushes in a wide bracket axle. Longer shocks too.

I don't see why not. It's still a new chassis, not seen the road. You'd probably be better off using the 85 vin as that's what you stamped on the chassis.

Yes, you have to be quick when they do pop up.

I went as a seller with a friend. We had a mix of LR related items and other old tad from the back of the shed. Flogged pretty much all of the old tad and virtually nothing LR related, so we know what to bother taking next time. I didn't buy anything, but found a new carb and ducellier distributor for my dad's series 3.
