  1. If you haven't cut the side panels already don't cut all the surplus off one end - center the cut out for the wheel over the axel. You then need to shorten the front end by approx. 10" (remembering to leave enough to fold the end over like the original). The rest then comes off the back depending on your rear overhang.

This way you do not have to mess about with moving the wheel arches.

thanks peter, this sides i have covered, just the end i need a little help with.

  2. There's a horizontal row of rivets along top of the wheel box top section into the rear pannel, a couple down the side of the wheel box and then a bunch down through the floor pannel into the rear body crossmember. Hope this helps blink.gif

i'll drill those out and see what falls off! thanks

  3. I've been involved as a consumer in the bmw 1 series launch and the vw golf gti buyers surveys....paid to talk about what and why you buy and also your demigraphic. Nice sandwhiches aswell.

So if wunderman will contribute to the coffers i believe you have come to one of the best forums for "landrovers" and what we believe "landrovers" are about. A working utility no frills vehicle that has lasted for 27 years as a 90 / 110 etc without much change.

Don't be put off by the mods, theya re protective of there brood! So free samples, insider knowledge of the next gen defender and a loan vehicle to evaluate what it's like to roll a tdv8 downa bank!

  4. greetings pop pickers

i have a disco 2 td5 and have just bought a caravan, after two outings i feel i need more power from the engine, not necessarly more speed, the landrover guy who does my servicing says that there are plug and forget gizmo,s that take care of all the necessary remapping without the need for much actual mechanical intervention, i know absulutly nothing about this and would kindly ask for guidance from those in the know.

    thanks

    tony

i find disco 2's high geared without a caravan on!

what sze wheels tyres you running? could go down a profile or two to lower the gearing?

  5. My old B reg, 200 tdi 90 i had had a galvy chassis, i left it and it dulled down nicely on the cross member. The rest you can't really see with a bit of road dirt.

At the most i'd paint the cross member, but i'd rather have the front bumper galved to match!

As for being a target, 90 ARE a target full stop at the mo so i'd protect any 90 / 110 regardless of it's chassis.

P.S best landrover i've ever owned!
