  1. Hi All, My new P38 is going well. However, i am trying to get to know it better and sort out some of the little problems..... Last night i was having a look in the fusebox (at relays 6 and 7), as the book is showing on the Hevac. The first thing that struck me was the (slight) smell of hot PCB. And the second thing that struck me was the fusebox has been changed and is almost new! Now my question is, if a very new looking fusebox is already smelling hot, what can i do to prevent the (fuse contract burning) problem before it occurs? The pollen filters have also been changed recently... Any thoughts? Regards, AB.
  2. Hi All, I have finally done it, i have got a P38. Has all of the usual P38 type problems, Hevac, eas, central locking, gear selector. I have taken the approach that as i paid less for the car than the parts are worth if broken then i am ok, fingers crossed. First problem i would like to takle is the slack gear selector, if i go to select drive i don't always get it, and sometimes have to pull back a little further for it to engage. If i go to park i sometimes get 'gearbox fault' on the dash (which then disappears and doesn't seem to cause problems. The car has had the gearbox rebuilt 6 months ago, so lets assume that is ok, where should i be looking first???? Any help much appreciated..... Regards, AB.
