  1. I have a bit of an uncommon 1991 Disco in Canada. Im trying to clarify what the heater controls do.

This car doesnt have a/c. Ive read that the 4 vents along the dash(at face/chest level) only blow unheated air

I have hot water going to and from the heater core but only luke warm air coming out the foot / windscreen vents

  2. Hi

I have an early S2A. I need all 8 marker, turn and brake lights.

I bought a set of  aftermarket lights and went to install them and found that they wont fit in the holes in the bodywork. I googled the original part numbers and they are no longer available. Can someone help me with some part numbers that will work for my car?

    Thank you

  3. Sorry to revive an old thread

When i removed the PTO cover, I didnt see a nut on the main shaft holding the input gear (FTC5087) onto the shaft even though the shaft is threaded

I cant see a nut for this in my parts manual

Is there a nut holding this gear in place?

    Thank you

  4. I have two issues with that.

How high up are you tilting the car to be able the fill the diff with enough oil to get the fluid high enough level?

The area on the stub axle that the outer seal rides on has a slight groove. Speedi seals are $65 each!

I would buy new stub axles but im in canada and getting killed on freight charges. I need a windscreen and was quoted $1200 for shipping alone!

  5. I have an early disco with no seal inside the axle tube. Diff oil lubes the wheel bearings. The inner hub seal stops oil from leaking out of the hub

    So far, so good!

What is the point of the outer hub seal(#15 in attached pic)? Oil should flow from the diff, axle tube then the hub

  6. Chasing a clunk in the drivetrain, i found the splines on the output shaft of the gearbox worn. Unfortunate as this  transfer case is the "G" model which has the uprated gear

So gearbox needs to be torn apart. Might as well do clutch while box is out.

Any recommendations on a clutch/friction plate?

Anything else i should change now?

    Thank you

  7. Hi

Just a heads up to any 3 door disco owners

The drivers seat was a bit "loose". I found the pivot shaft welds had broken from the seat frame and the bushings had seized up. The checked the passenger seat and found the welds had also broken but bushings hadnt seized yet.

I welded them up with bigger beads.
