  1. Hi

Im working through some electrical issues on a 1991 Disco. I can find the 1995 Disco workshop manual and the 1991 RRC manual but not the 1991 Disco manual

Is it available?  Or is the 1991 RRC electrical similar to the 1991 Disco electrical  so that i could use the RRC manual?

    Thank you

  2. Hi

Im trying to find the part number for an elusive bushing

LR041261 is the steering tie rod? It bolts to the steering box and has a bushing at the other end

What is the part number for bushing? I cant even find it pictured in the parts manual

    Thank you

  3. I dont think its that easy

I still have more investigation to do but on the RHD car, the main harness exits a junction plug on the LH side firewall. I think this splits into a feed for left front and separate right front electrical. When i swap the harness to the LH firewall , im going to exit the RS firewalll  and all the harness connections will need to be swapped side, for side. So my indicator lights will now be wrong?? Or am i over thinking it?

  4. Hi All

Im in the process of swapping from RHD to LHD. Little did I know of the 89-94 preface lift differences from the 95 onwards model. The dash being an obvious difference

I have had to remove the wiring harness and swap it 180 degrees. This will probably reverse the operation of the turn signals? I found a '91 range rover wiring diagram in the rave manuals but havent found a 91 Disco wiring diagram. Does anyone know of one, or if the Range Rover and Disco wring would be the same on the turn signals?

If anyone is interested in this project, I can post pics

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers

  5. Hi

I own 1995 Disco and am looking at a tired 1991 3 door disco

I believe the 91 service manual is different from the 95 manual?

    Is the earlier manual available?

The brake pedal on the 91 goes to the floor. Ive found non abs master cylinders , any source for rebuild kits for the abs master cylinders?

    Thank you

  6. HI

I know this has been done to death but im confused

I have a 200tdi temperature sender in the thermostat housing. PRC 9917 is stamped on the side

Everything i have found on line says its M16 x 1.5

Ive measured mine several times and the thread is 1.0

OD of the thread is .622"

Am I really measuring the thread wrong???

  7. This loom had an extra cost option being wired for the 200tdi. They refused, after sale, to provide a diagram.

In hind sight, I would have ordered the standard harness and done my own mods to make the TDI work

  8. i also found this diagram that shows BY is the earth for timer and fuel shut off.

My fuel shut off is integral to the Bosch VE IP, so no need for that earth.

Seems there are several ways Rover wired these. I suspect the easiest way forward is to put a push button on the dash to energize the glow plugs, wire indicator light parallel with the glow plugs. A generic 70amp relay for $12 and I should be good to go.

Gives me control. Better for very cold starts

  9. Hi

I bought a wiring harness from a UK firm for my 88" 2A . Harness came ready for a 200tdi.

Ive had nothing but issues trying to figure it out. When i contacted the company, i was told they dont provide wiring diagrams!

One example of a question. A black wire is supposed to go from the glow plug timer to the indicator on the dash. Their harness has this wire going to a ring connector in another area then to the dash. I had to pull apart the harness to figure this out. Other areas seem to have missing wires. I am on the verge of pulling all the covering off and redoing all the problems

Has anyone else run into such issues?
