Odd LT77 serial number

Recommended Posts

So I believe the time has come to change my LT77 as its making a horrible noise! I crawled under to get my serial number so that I could give it to Ashcroft's but its not what I was expecting. Its "3615 LLR", its been stamped in the location that the serial number should be. I'm guessing its been rebuilt at some point and they have removed the original serial number to replace it with this.

My question now is, how do I tell what variant of the LT77 do I have? And does it matter that much? I will need a long stick as its a Defender, but do the other details matter that much?

Thanks
