300TDI 1996 Immobilizer (main alarm unit issues)

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Goal: I want to fix my immobilizer, not remove it.

Background:

I read up that a very common issue with the immobilizer system is that the spider unit stop functioning. People then perform a simple bypass procedure to effectively wire the fuel stop valve and solenoid directly from the main alarm controller, bypassing the spider. However, this has not been my issue, as the (1) C863-6 input to the spider is never 12V when I try start the Landy(2) The second clue is that, even with the starter and fuel cutoff directly wired to +12V, and with the alarm disabled by remote just before starting the Landy (successfully), after 5mins, the alarm re-activates (red LED starts flashing again).

So it feels to me some input wires to the main alarm controller is unconnected. How could the alarm system re-active while the Landy is running? Any tips which wires to look at?

I wonder if the fob isn’t being seen by the sensor at the ignition switch?

C863-6 not getting power: is the relay clicking at crank? If not then the coil isn’t being energised and that’s probably because the 10AS unit is still in alarm set.
