clutch fork failure

No this is not in the wrong forum, but i have just overhauled a S3 suffix D main box and when washing off the oil/clutch dust paste from the clutch fork i was supprised to see that it was cracked over half way thro midway up the long side. Has anybody else ever come across this? as when i was in the trade the only fork i needed to throw out(out of 100 to 150) was due to heavy salt corrosion and there were plenty of uncorroded s/h ones on the shelf.
