Ivan
Need to change the swivel hubs on my Disco. I have read the articles by Les in the tech forum and it seems fairly easy. Only question I have is that it is fitted with ABS. Do I just unplug the sensors and do they replug in easily enough ? Or do I just hang the hub off the front spring and leave the ABS sensors connected ? TIA Ivan
Pete Attryde
Assuming it's a Disco 1, If your careful with the ABS sensor it should be possible to lever it out of the swivel pin and tie it up out of the way. you will need to clean around it first and I then shoved a piece of rag in the hole to stop muck getting in. IIRC there are connectors on the inner wings that pull apart in the usual manor to disconnect the sensor. Hth Pete
Ivan
Thanks for that Pete. Yes it's a Disco 1. I will disconect the sensors at the inner wing connection. I am a bit nervous about pulling out ABS sensors and then trying to get them back in in case I don't do it right. If I get it wrong it's a trip to the local independant for £45+ worth of testbook. Pete Attryde
I have to say that I was nervous the first time I did it but found as long as everything is clean they are very easy to reinstall correctly as you just push them in till they stop.
