bazza
Reckon this is one of the prototypes and a very early production freelander, good at collecting dust at least!
Mark
That's cool. Where did you find them?
bazza
That's cool. Where did you find them? Bordon. They are parked in the REME museums (Arborfield) overflow shed at Bordon, its possible they belong to Dunsfold as they also park vehicles there, like a mega strtched P38 Rangey. Blippie
Yeah, the LHD Maestro van looks like one of the Freelander mules. Might be interesting to check the wheels - see if it has the same stud pattern as the Freelander. The Freebie next to it doesn't have a badge on the bonnet/grille which is a good sign of a prototype. If ithas smooth bumpers/plastic mounldings rather than the textured production ones, that would be pretty conclusive. Cheers Blippie
Guest WALFY
Never mind the motors. What's worth nicking out of the post pallets behind. Bet theres' some good kit in them
Blippie
Just load the lot into the back of the Maestro - it'll probably start first time. Cheers Blip
G30RGE
One on left definitely looks like the CB40 (Freelander) Test 'Mules', which consisted of a prototype Freelander floorpan and running gear, grafted into an Austin Maestro van body. I have some pics somewhere - If I can find them I'll post them.
