  1. stolen from another forum http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-DEFENDER-90-COUNTY-STATION-WAGON-/271318895434?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f2bddcb4a&clk_rvr_id=549743635765&afsrc=1 take the pink bits off and give it some proper wheels and tyres, it may look reasonable.....
  2. i don't remember rubbing salt in my eyes - but they burrrnnnn....
  3. check the seal between the heater inlet and the scuttle panel, probably needs resealing. drop the glovebox down, unclip the hinges so it drops right down, and you should be able to remove it and reseal then. you'll also need to remove the scuttle panel at the bottom of the windscreen too.
  4. wow, that's going to be interesting to do. the accessory functions such as wipers, rear fogs, heated rear window etc are controlled via the multi function unit on the back of the fuse box. i would imagine that with a lot of patience that you could remove the central locking and alarm system from a loom. you'll need to get hold of a copy of Rave for the wiring diagrams though. have you tried a spider bypass unit?

  7. ahh, the actual outer panel. I'd be inclined to rivet a new strip of angle aluminium on there, probably be best option.
  8. have a look in http://s34.beta.photobucket.com/user/quattro_6900/library/#/user/quattro_6900/library/New%20Disco%202?&_suid=135280692074506592772267727603 plenty of dismantled disco pics to choose from
  9. hmm, i'd want a couple of mods in that chavalier first, like a bracket to hold the battery down, or better still a sealed box to put it in - don't like the idea of having a battery that close in a banger racer
  10. mmm, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RESTORATION-PROJECT-1991-LAND-ROVER-RANGE-ROVER-VOGUE-TURBO-D-BLUE-SILVER-/270970827823?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f171eb42f tasteful
  11. you will need to upgrade to vented calipers if you are going for vented discs, the standard ones won't fit.
  12. sounds like a good idea to me. what about fabbing up a plate that bolts to the manifold with an outlet on it, then running some ducting to the standard heater inlet, that way you would get a better intake of warm air. bit like the old heat shields they used to use on carburrettor cars to warm the carb up.
  13. i will be helping someone to do this into an 86 defender soon. the bases are different and need to be removed from the disco seats, and then a frame making up to fit them to the defender seat box. unless you get some universal seat frames from a bucket type seat.
  14. everytime i use one it tells me strange things, last one told me to turn left - fair enough, except i was 40ft up in the air on a motorway flyover before that it couldn't find a house that had been there for 40 years, many people can't do without them, i prefer these days to get the postal address of where i am going, google map it for the close ups, and plan the rest on a good old road atlas, as for cameras, take note of the warning signs, local speed limits etc and be careful, if in doubt stick to 55 on open roads, 30 in towns... just my 2p worth, but if it helps.....
