sotal
Normally any faults have to reset at a dealer or at an LR specialist using the computer. However I didn't think the CEL was a permanent error (ie it logs the errors so they can be read off but the light is only on whilst the fault is present) - I might be wrong but I reckon if you find the fault and rectify then the light will go out. I presume with it being an ES Auto that it's an EDC model? Try unplugging and reseating the ECU behind the drivers kickpanel next to the accelerator pedal
big ives
having replaced the damage loom a few days ago by cutting and splicing in a new section, all joints where soldered, today i stripped back the loom and found a broken wire that went to the accelerator potentiometer, reterminated and HEY PRESTO the check engine light went out. took the disco for a test run and everything working as it was its a good feeling getting everything sorted, imagine all this down to a blown exhaust manifold gasket many thanks for all the input ives
