Countax
Will a Mondeo alternator fit a 200TDi without the need for modifications? I also heard petrol and diesel Mondeo's use different alternators, so does anyone know which one fits best? Thx, Nigel
SiWhite
I've got a Mondeo alt on my 200Tdi. IIRC it's from a 2.0 litre petrol model - not 100% sure, but it's the only type with a 90amp alt. I had to machine about 4mm from one of the mounting brackets to make it line up with my PAS pump. You may not need to do this as I'm running a V8 PAS pump on a custom mounting plate. The mounting holes are also a different size - LR is smaller than Ford. You'll also need to take to serp belt pulley off and pop yours on. Very easy conversion.
