Santiago
Hi there! I have a Brazilian International 2.8 HS engine with VNT turbo fitted in my 2000 Defender Td5. I bought the vehicle with the engine already installed and it works really fine: LOTS of torque at low revs, greater acceleration than with my former 300 Tdi Dfender, etc. Nevertheless I' ve always wondered whether it has the correct intercooler fitted. It has the original LR 300 Tdi intercooler installed. Isn´t this intercooler a bit small for the 2.8 engine? If so which would be the correct intercooler to my engine? Thanks! Guest diesel_jim
Depends on what the turbo pressure is, a standard intercooler may well be OK, but if i were to have a 2.8, i'd want to make the most of it, so i'd visit http://www.allisport.com and get Andy to make me a full width intercooler so i could increase the boost pressure and fuelling, and get even more power from the engine. Santiago
Thanks for the Allisport advice Jim. Unfortunately I have no clue about the turbo pressure of my VNT turbo. I will try to find out. Are the 2.8 engines popular in the UK? Cheers, Santiago
