allywatson
I've just got a 2006 3dr Freelander and am trying to take the stereo out to put in a Kenwood single DIN unit. I have the facia adaptor but have not got a clue how to remove the trim to get the stereo out...can anyone help? Regards Alastair
BogMonster
Post a pic of the stereo so we can have a look. The later VDO stereos mostly come out with an allen key, the C42 is a 2.5mm allen key which you stick in through a hole in each side of the radio and loosen the clamps then it just slides out. If the radio in your freebie is anything like mine, (56 model) which is a double size one then it becomes quite difficult. The centre consul between the seats has to be removed. You can now see the bottom two screws which along with the top two on the radio fascia. Remove the screws and the radio just pops straight out. regards Fred
