jim109
Hi Guys, I am currently in the final stages of completing a full restoration of my series III 109 and I have come to fitting the front shocks. The shocks (bought from Paddocks) seem to be about an inch too short at full stroke, when the vehicle is jacked up on that spring. Is this normal and can I just put a ratchet strap around the chassis and spring and pull it up into place or will this just pull the bottom out the shock when the thing goes over a pot-hole?. Cheers. Betsy
Thats normal. You can use a ratchet strap to compress the spring, or support the car under the axle to compress the spring.
david1701
when i fitted mine i had to compress them a bit to get em on, I jacked to the axle i think, odd, wait for one of the wiser hands to help you as i'm being a tad useless
