jamesmyl110 Posted November 8, 2008 Share Posted November 8, 2008 Just fitted a disco 200 Tdi with 300 turbo to my '86 110. Turbo starts to scream at around 55mph when the engine is hot, checked all the obvious and fabricated straight through exhaust. Sounds like uneven gas flow across the turbine but tappets all correct and manifold gasket new. Not sure of the trusbos history but on inspection seems to be ok, possibly too much shaft play but not excessive. Also fitted a steve parker temp sender but guage still reading high. Milemarker Type S Posted November 9, 2008 Share Posted November 9, 2008 Check the inlet manifold and exhaust manifold gaskets along with all the turbo intake piping- sounds like you have a small airleak which makes a god awful scream like the turbo is about to go bang!
