Timing Belt Cover

Hey All,

It never is easy, is it! <_< Have hit 200k's on my 200tdi motor and it is time to change the drive belt. Firstly i have had to cut off one of the 90mm bolt head on the water pump to remove it as it is rusted solid into the block. Have now removed all remaining bolts on the timing belt cover plate hoping to ease it away from the housing. Nope, this will not budge either. I have a feeling that the last person who did the timing used a liquid sealant to seal around the opening where the water pump receives the coolant from the block. Since it is aluminium i do not want to apply excessive force and bend, crack or damage the cover plate. I'm sure someone has come across a similar situation, any bright ideas?

Cheers

Rhodie
