E-BRacing Posted December 13, 2008 Share Posted December 13, 2008 I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM TO ME AND HAS A SOLUTION? I HAVE AN '03 PLATE 5 DOOR ES TD4 AND THE SUNROOF ON CLOSING MAKES A NOISE LIKE PLASTIC GEARS SLIPPING. IN ADDITION TO THIS, AT ABOUT 80 MPH + THE SUNROOF LIFTS SLIGHTLY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND CREATES A LOT OF WIND NOISE. white90 Posted December 14, 2008 Share Posted December 14, 2008 Yes Common problem it is the drive mechanism/carrier you'll need to remove the head lining/remove sunroof and replace the drive mech on the side that is lifting, cost around £60-70 for the Part. E-BRacing Posted December 14, 2008 Author Share Posted December 14, 2008 many thanks Tony that'll be my job for next weekend! along with, replacing the passenger front door card on the disco tdi finding out why the disco V8 sounds like a bag of bolts, and why the LPG doesn't work and why i can't get my 3.5 EFi RRC Rally Car to start when there's fuel and a spark. finishing the RRC roll cage, brakes, fuel system, glass replacement, door replacement, bonnet replacement/ repair, respray, brakes replacement, sports suspension pack fit,........................... the list, when does it end??????????????
