Martin L Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Hi Has anyone ever tried to refit the plastic clip on the clutch arm, the one that holds the slave cylinder push-rod in position. Easy yes, with the gearbox out, Bloody tricky with the gearbox in. Here is a trick I worked out for doing the job through the slave cylinder mounting hole. simply glue a plastic electrical gland nut to the fitting, then use a small piece of plastic conduit screwed onto the gland nut to position the clip and fit it. the push-rod is safe inside the conduit and when done simply unscrew the conduit from the nut. The small gland nut will not interfere at all with the clutch opperation... Cool eh? Quote
Les Henson Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Clever idea Sometimes one of the little 'legs' snap off if you're not careful. I've heard people use a bit of fishing line round them to pull them in and then release the line once it's in place. A bit of grease and some careful wiggling usually prevents them from breaking.
