200tdi clutch problem

Recommended Posts

It has become very hard to press the pedal down, we replaced the slave and the pedal is free and things did improve. however all gears are hard to select, it had an Ashcrofts box 18mnths ago.

I suspect the clutch arm problem and will be taking a Les Henson welded arm and a new release.

Do you gents have any other ideas?

Cheers.

With a new slave, all properly bled, the clutch arm does sound the most likely cuplrit. If not, I have seen one with the release bearing slightly crunchy and very badly worn so that it was pushing off centre and jamming the arm before it had put sufficient pressure on the fingers.
