300 tdi turbo boost

sting

Recommended Posts

have just got car back on road after replacing conrods, everything ok apart from what i think seems to be a lack of boost from turbo, compared to my old 200 tdi.seems to fade on hills, and living in lakes can be frustrating.all things usual are done, apart from tweeking inj pump and checking turbo.i have had actuator rod off and seems free enough but unsure whether to adjust because a little bit of tension is already needed to refit, but not excessive, is there any way of testing without a test/boost gauge?.have also noticed when under load at about 3 3500 rpm in 2nd or 3rd power can momenterily die, until you lift off pedal slightly and it picks up again.is thi poss inj pump delivery rate setting?.ps i havent had this vehicle long and bought it slightly down on power, and price.but i dont think it is as quick as my old 200,

Have you check the fuel lift pump before you mess with the FIP check for air leaks in fuel pipe work.

200 seem to to be a bit faster than the 300 .
