How much travel on the lift pump lever is normal ?

Morning - just a quick query to confirm if my lift pump is working as expected.

TDi300 EDC 97 model:

If I turn the engine over to get the cam in the appropriate position to allow the lift pump priming lever to do it's thing, I find I only get about 1/2" stroke resistance on the primer lever. Does this seem about right or should I be able to get a good long pump ?

Cheers

Which way you pulling the lever?

On my non EDC 300TDi, upwards (which for my car was the wrong way) was around 1/2" travel, but down and towards the engine was a full sweep and i could feel the fuel pumping

Thanks

Matt

Hi - thanks for the info, on mine it only goes one way which is down. In the up position it clips into place to hold the lever.

Cheers
