Grant.
Hi All, Not sure where to put this, so thought I would put it in here! Have a 6.2GMC diesel v8 and I need a new alternator belt, however due to the lack of the previous one I ideally need the belt code so I can go and buy one! So has anyone got it/know it? Thanks Grant
FridgeFreezer
I'd suggest measuring the distance and pulley (either V width or polyvee number of grooves) and asking your local motor factors for one that fits, that way you know for next time. All they do with most of them is look up in the book and then pick the right generic one off the shelf. For example, my belts are Dayco part 13A1250 which just means they're a V-belt, 13mm wide and 1250mm long. Doing it this way also means you don't get charged a premium for something because of the make of car.

Cheers fridge Have done that, got the length, the width at the top of the belt and the width of the bottom of the belt, just was wondering if anyone knew a code to save the hassle ( am going to a belt specialists anyway though) Thanks for the advice though!! FridgeFreezer
If you want someone to give you a code for it, it might help if you actually posted the measurements up
