Hey guys

just had a call from my wife shes driving my 2000 model td5 disco she said that there is smoke coming from under the passenger seat .it nearly burnt her pals leg. she looked under the seat and removed a fuse? this stopped the smoke but she has said that there is now an srs light on ,is this to do with removing the fuse ,and what could be causing the smoke?

im working away just now and cant get to the vehicle so any help would be greatly appreciated

If you have heated seats, possibly the heating was activated and something went wrong and overheated.

If you have power seats, maybe the motors/switches are the cause.

SRS light ON means there's a fault, most likely with the seat belt pre-tensioner that got separated from the circuit or is faulty, that could be the result of what:

- your wife disconnected

- got burned (wires/connectors), related or not to the main cause

- could be the main cause.

Easy fix

Your Lucas "Internal Smoke" has escaped from your wiring, prob a poor joint

at a terminal end, or maybe a crack in the plastic outer covering of your wiring.

You just need to get one of these to Fix :

Hope this helps ;)
