Check Your Clutch Cylinder Pipe Now!

Hi All

I recently had a problem whereas I was driving along and, whammy, Couldn't get a gear.

Having had a similar problem on a previous car I suspected the clutch slave cylinder had gone and, sure enough, there was fluid dripping from the underneath as you would find.

However, I have just taken off the slave cylinder (thankfully an easy job as kindly described by a colleague on here) and was feeding the pipework off towards the master cyliner when I noticed that the pipe had worn very badly between the final clip and the slave cylinder.

Sure enough, when my friend pushed the clutch in, fluid squirted from a tiny hole in the worn area, NOT from the slave cylinder!!!

So just a helpful tip to all, have a quick check of the pipework, especially in the area I have mentioned.

I am going to try a repair and top up the fluid from the pot on the master cylinder, but failing that its £60 to replace!!!
