santalars Posted July 3, 2009 Share Posted July 3, 2009 A picture would help much! Where does it leak from? What noise? Lock the wheel? So far my best guess would be the swivel bearing, allowing the swivel ball to move, opening a gap at the seal between the swivel ball and the housing and grease seeping out. Guppy Posted July 3, 2009 Share Posted July 3, 2009 Do you mean that when the steering is on lock you get a 'chunka chunka chunka' noise? Just had this done on mine... Jack the wheel up and give it a good yank from side to side (whilst looking fore/aft). There shouldn't be any significant movement. If you can rock it back and forth like a cradle then it's time for a new bearing. There's a cracking guide on replacement in the tech archive if you're confident with a spanner.
