peterdon
I collected my MY95 Disco 3.9 V8 yesterday. Had a 100 mile journey home. Everything was fine except the temp gauge doesn't work. Water is Ok so no probs there. I assume the sender is at the thermostat housing, am I right? I intend to start by replacing this but is there anything else I should be considering first/aswell? All advice gratefully received. Thanks
teabag
You have two temperture senders, one behind the distributor with a multi pin plug that's for the engine management and behind that is a smaller sender with a single wire thats the one for the temp gauge. Just disconnect the sender wire (it's a push fit) and earth it, then if the gauge needle deflects when the ignition is switched on you have a faulty sender.
