Dorsetfreelander Posted December 24, 2009 Share Posted December 24, 2009 I have an 04 reg TD4, I have noticed recently that on cold days there is a ticking noise from behind the drivers seat when I start the engine. If I switch the engine off and then on again then the noise seems to disappear. I guess this is the fuel pump. Is this a sign that the fuel pump is on it's way out or is it something to do with extra fuel needed for the fuel burning heater on cold days?
