waddy
Hi there - I have a 53, 2003 L322 Vogue. For some reason the heated rear screen is not working. The button works, the light comes on, all the fuses and relay are fine. Does anyone know where the control module is located for this? I have had the access panel off to the tailgate and 2 black wires go to a grey box - is this the control module? There is power going to it constantly on 2 wires with a third that is seemingly dead. This module looks like it is something to do with the phone/aerial as it has an antenna link to it also. I assume these two wires are the only pick-ups to the screen? Ive had this problem since I bought the car a year ago and it's getting on my nerves now - especially with the ice and a wet dog in the back breathing heavily after a days shooting!! Cheers Mark. vougese39
get the ecu fault read as it could be a soft ware issue if it has a fault it will also help in diagnosing the fault
waddy
Will the ECU throw a fault code then? How do I go about getting it read? I assume paying the dealer (stealer!) some pound notes?!
vougese39
all the ecu read and store faults without having them read you are just shooting in the dark trying things and as the l322 is a complicated electronicaly it is best to start with a ecu fault read
waddy
I assume a 'stealer' job for the ECU read?
Fatboy
Not necessarily, a lot of independent garages now have computing equipment which can do the same as the dealers - just phone around and ask what they have and what can they do? waddy
Found the problem! Turns out I was looking at the wrong end of the tailgate! The box at the top is to do with the phone/radio aerial. I took off the side trims and the lower trim which exposes the actual connections to the heating elements. One of the plugs was not connected. All working now!
