Bull Bar Cowboy Posted March 8, 2010 Share Posted March 8, 2010 Mike, The later 3.9 EFI cams were 12mm, and most (not all) after market cams seem to be 10mm..............the 4L/4.6L are 10mm.............it seems there must have been a period within LR that it could have been either as a number of folk have had the same issue. MikeAK Posted March 14, 2010 Author Share Posted March 14, 2010 SUCCESS Finally got it all back together this afternoon. Ran it between 2250 and 2500 for 30mins to bed the cam in and it all seems fine now. Still don't understand why the old cam failed so suddenly. So made sure all the oilways were clear during assembly and ran the pump with a drill before fitting valley gasket to ensure oil was getting everywhere. Thanks to everyone for all the advice.
