kingdong2 Posted April 12, 2010 Author Share Posted April 12, 2010 Hi guys its bad news im afraid we broke down, anyway we set off from manchester to angelsey yesterday but had to stop off at a mates house on the way to see there new born baby then after setting off from there and 15 miles later the car seemed to loose power and noticed the temp gauge was reading between normal and hot but mins before this the temp gauge was reading in the normal position so pulled into a layby and the engine cut out before i could switch it off anyway looked under the car and there was water gushing out under the car so lifted the bonnet and couldn't see anything so removed the cover over the two rads and i could see water under the engine coolant rad so called out the AA who came out had a look at the rad and said the rad was nacked so he put some sealant into the header tank and toped it up with water and ran the engine and after a wile the leak vertually stoped but when trying to bleed the system he found the heater wasn't getting hot and said the impeler had come off the water pump or the thermostat has jamed so we had to be carried home so we are going to call the dealer we bought the car from and see what he says. graham ____________________ 03 d2 td5 auto e.s. 97 d1 300 tdi man. kingdong2 Posted April 13, 2010 Author Share Posted April 13, 2010 yipee we collected the car today and everything seems ok drove it the 35 miles from the garage in baxendon lancs going over the tops to the M66 motorway then to our home in wythenshawe and the temp gauge stayed at normal after reaching temp and the heater was nice and hot so well pleased. graham _________________ 03 d2 td5 auto e.s. 97 d1 300 tdi man.
