hobson
I'm getting an annoying squeeky sound from the engine and have put it down to the belt tensioners, so i'm going to change the lot as we've done a lot of hot dusty miles in the last year. firstly, are the kits any different? OEM or pattern (not using britpart for such a vital area!) and how do i tell if my vehicle has had the timing belt modification which affected early vehicles? i only mention this because the bottom pulley looks very wobbly when the engine is running... if not is there a full kit to do the lot? Les Henson
The bottom pulley has nothing to do with the belt alignment problem - it's an internal timing belt alignment problem. The pulley is bolted to the damper, which is two pieces of metal with a thin strip of rubber to connect the two in a disc formation. Check the crank bolt is nice and tight, as this would cause the pulley to wobble as it eats away at the woodruff key/slot Les.
