tristan
Recently purchased 95 disco for my wife ( 2 days ago ) Tonight I noticed a knocking noise when turning from drivers front wheel and also slightly bucks like diff is locked. Im thinking cv joint but figured id seek advice from you all, knowing rovers are quirky. 2 day history : Day 1 my wife ran into rock wall tearing side wall and denting front passenger wheel. I fixed flat, bent crappy lug wrench ( bought 18" breaker bar and socket for replacement) Day 2 wife drove 75 miles on freeway ( 60 - 70 mph). Not sure if those contribute to this issue or not. Also unrealated it clunks from PARK to REV and REV to Drive and when you take foot of gas abruptly. My thought U-joints, or gearbox. Please give me your thoughts!! BogMonster
Most likely a CV joint as you suggest. Clunks changing direction are pretty standard on any high mileage vehicle
