ive got a discovery 300tdi fuel pump that will be fitted to to my 200tdi engine

the problem i have is that the mail pilley had been taken off leaving the taper shaft on show

the pump has space for a woodruff key but the pulley that the belt pulley is bolted to dont have a cut for a keyway

how do i know when the pump is timed so i can bolt the belt pulley to it in the correct position??

If your talking about the adaptor [highlighted Orange] & the big centre nut [highlighted red] on the diagram below, these should never be seperated from the FIP assembly at home, only if the FIP is under repair/rebuild by a diesel injection specialist, parts inside the FIP may have moved as a result of the centre nut/adaptor removal, best move would be to have the FIP checked tested & the correct adaptor part refitted.
