mistalrov
I have a p38 4.0 litre range rover with a noisey rear alternator bearing. After replaceing the alternator with a new one,the bearing rattle returned after 2 days. Could the problem lie with a faulty auto adjuster or any other faulty item. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Range Rover Blues
The short body alternator has a bad reputation, the rear bearing is quite small. I had one explode on the M18 because that bearing let go, so you could just be unlucky and have bought a duff replacement if it was second hand. Might be worth having it rebuilt before it lets go completely.
