landyloon
Hi all, Yay first post on here, took, the series 3 out for the first time in two months today when the indicators gave up the will to live, after removal of dash i think i located the problem, there is one flasher unit for the hazzards (two pin) & what appears to be a heavy duty flasher unit (four pin)for the indicators. The 4 pin unit has only got 3 wires goin to it but works the indicators when it feels like it, is there anything i`m missing here? Confused The hazzard lights work ok off the 2 pin unit ok but indicators are now deader than a dead thing.
Les Henson
Welcome Landyloon. The most common reason for indicators to pack up on a series truck is bad earth. One of the wires you mention should be live when the ignition is switched on, and if this is the case, then it's likely to be the relay. I don't have hazards on catflap, so the wiring is different. A simple relay as used in old Mini's is what I use. Les.

Cheers for info Les, got it sorted in the end, turned out to be a dodgy earth in the hazzard switch, many thanx for reply.

Hillbilly Raider
Hi all (Hillbilly Rebel on the wifes log in here) Funny that, just had my Series out last night after giving it the all important service before taking it to Italy in the next 2 weeks. Changed all the lights on the front due to bad fittings etc, and guess what, the indicators have also pack up, think it's the relay though as it is heating up when it's switch on!!!! Must be that time of year. Mike
