Pops and bangs a bit as well as running fast on idle ( i think as no rev counter). might need to readjust balance on carbs. mixture etc. runs ok as is but want it right for peace of mind. 101sean Posted November 27, 2011 Share Posted November 27, 2011 The advice in all the manuals is identical inc Burlens bible on the subject. Go logically through the settings, set the carbs to base settings and make sure the timing is right before going further. No special tools are needed although a carbalancer makes it easier, I only use a hose though. Popping and banging is weak mixture, fast idle could be a manifold leak,air leak around worn throttle spindle or a poppet valve in a throttle butterfly stuck open (it's worth soldering them shut) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
