moneypit
Hi All Recently had a fault on my 2000 2.5 V6 with very heavy shifting.Made some phone calls and the generals concess was a complete autobox stripdown and possible replacement at ridicules prices .So decided to investigate myself and found some really good manuals with possible failure .Long story short ordered a replacement line pressure solonoid for £70 and hey presto shes running and shifing beautiful.Total repair time 2hrs insitu.A bit of a tight squeeze but with a bit of patience the result speaks for it self.Next on the list is to do the timing belts but the timing tools cost a fortune so looking into a home made option does any one out there have some dimensions on the tooling required? RangeyRover
Ok, my first thought was to lock the cams using a standard K cam locking tool. But that doesn't seem possible because the exhaust cam pickup is at the rear of the engine. After that I am at a loss, sorry. some more info on wiki KV6 Rover KV6 Cam belt change
moneypit
Thanks for the links very helpfull .What I need now is some dimensional drawings of the timing tools so I can get some made locally as machine shop work is quite cheap in Poland.
